Join Indian Territorial Army as an Officer, Recruitment Aug 2015


Applications are invited from gainfully employed young men for an opportunity of donning the uniform and serving the nation. Territorial Army Officers,based on the concept of enabling 
motivated young men to serve in a military environment without having to sacrifice their primary professions.
You can serve the nation in two capacities – as a civilian and as a soldier. No other option allows you such an expanse of experiences.

 Date of written Exam: 02 Aug 2015

 Eligibility Condition:
  • Only male citizens of India and Ex-service officers who are medically fit. 
  • Age - 18 to 42 years as on 30 June 2015
  • Qualification- Graduate from any recognized university. 
  • Employment-Gainfully Employed in Central Govt/Semi Govt/ Pvt Firm/ Own business/Self Employed. 
  • Note : Serving Employees of Polices/Para Military Forces are not eligible. 
Territorial Army Exam Syllabus:
  • PART I - Short Essay. 
  • PART II - Objective type question on General Awareness : Includes Issues related to Political / Economical affairs, International Situation and Sports.
All desirous civilian candidates can obtain APPLICATION FORM, from EMPLOYMENT NEWSPAPER or download from www.indianarmy.gov.in and send it along with self addressed stamped envelope of 28x12 cms size, two passport size photographs and postal stamps worth Rs.27/- affixed on envelop to their respective TA Group Headquarters as per the area.

    Sir , i dont have domicile certificate. But i have voter card, Aadhar card and Ration card. Will any of this can work in place of domicile certificate?

      domicile certificate is mandatory..needed at the time of Interview.

    I need your help and advice regarding Joining Territorial army as a full time carrier.
    I am a civilian and posses less information regarding TA as a full time career. I am 25+ years old, Software Engineer by profession and want to join Army. But I am over age according to UPSC terms and I cant Join Regular Army through CDS and not even through TGC,SSC because my graduation marks is lesser then average cut off.

    So, I want to know how's your experience of TA . I have read in all advertisement that TA is part time job and one can serve in TA only for 2 months in a year. But I work in a private sector and no organization will give a me leave for 2 months. I hope you understand my doubts and will help in clearing my doubts.

      Hi Robert,
      TA is part time force.. But you can opt for full time . once you get recommended then its all done, don't worry about this it

    My weight is 76 kg and height 5'5". As per TA Medical standards, the required weight is 57 kg with tolerable limit of 61. Do I have any hope if I bring myself down to 70kg? I am asking because in one of your replies to some other aspirant, you had mentioned that bringing down the weight to 70 will do. Please guide.

    Sir, the notification which I downloaded from the official website doesn't contain serial no. 05, which is the examination centre at Udhampur and Srinagar. Please look into the matter and inform me if they have removed these examination centres as these were present in the previous notification.

      You can apply for the exam,but at the time of interview you need to produce your educational certificates.

    Dear Smruti,

    The area given in the form for pasting photograph is very small.The 4.5x3.5 cms sized photograph need more space for pasting.What should i do?Do i decrease the size of my photo or do i modify the form to make space for the photo?

    I have received my call letter for exam held on 2nd of August.I want to ask you that on that day do they take only written exam or will they take interview also because they asked many documents like Domicile, Affidavit and more to verify.Do i carry all the documents? if not then please tell me what are the documents need to carry for written exam.
